Gabby Douglas, born on December 31, 1995, in Newport News, Virginia, is a three-time Olympic gold medalist who made history in 2012 by becoming the first Black woman to win the individual all-around gymnastics competition at the Summer Games. Now, at the age of 28, Douglas has announced her return to competitive gymnastics, with her sights set on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

In an interview with CNN, Douglas acknowledged that making a comeback at her age will be a significant challenge, but she is confident in her abilities and determined to prove that age is not a barrier to success. The Paris Olympics will be held in the summer of 2024, when Douglas will be 28 years old.
