Ross Colton Scores Game-Winning Goal
The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Montreal Canadiens in an exciting overtime thriller on Sunday evening. Ross Colton scored the game-winning goal just over five minutes into the extra period, giving the Lightning a 4-3 victory.
The Canadiens had taken a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki. However, the Lightning responded with two goals in the second period from Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli to tie the game.
The teams traded goals in the third period, with Brendan Gallagher scoring for the Canadiens and Nikita Kucherov tying the game for the Lightning.
In overtime, the Lightning controlled the puck for most of the period. Colton eventually got the puck in the slot and ripped a shot past Carey Price to win the game.
The victory was the Lightning's fourth in a row and improved their record to 10-5-2 on the season.
