CALGARY, AB (February 28, 2023) - The Calgary Flames announced details today for the retirement of Miikka Kiprusoff's jersey number 34. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 2 at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Kiprusoff played 11 seasons with the Flames, from 2003 to 2013. He won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL's top goaltender in 2006 and 2007, and was a member of the Finnish national team that won the silver medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

"Miikka Kiprusoff is one of the greatest goaltenders in Flames history," said Flames President and General Manager Brad Treliving. "His incredible talent and dedication helped lead our team to some of its most successful seasons. We are honored to retire his jersey number and celebrate his legacy with our fans."

The jersey retirement ceremony will be part of a special pre-game event before the Flames' game against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night. The event will include a video tribute, speeches from former teammates and coaches, and a ceremonial puck drop.
