Calgary Flames Extend Gms Contract

Brad Treliving signs multi-year contract extension

Calgary Flames extend GM's contract

Deal keeps Treliving with Flames through 2024-25 season

The Calgary Flames have signed general manager Brad Treliving to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.

The extension will keep Treliving with the Flames through the 2024-25 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Brad has been an integral part of our organization's success over the past seven years," Flames president of hockey operations Brian Burke said in a statement. "He is a highly respected leader who has built a strong foundation for our team. We are confident that he is the right person to lead us into the future."

Treliving was hired by the Flames in 2014 and has led the team to the playoffs in four of the past six seasons. The Flames reached the second round of the playoffs in 2019 and 2022.

"I am honored to continue as the general manager of the Calgary Flames," Treliving said. "This is a first-class organization with a passionate fan base. I am committed to building a team that can compete for the Stanley Cup."

Treliving's extension comes at a time when the Flames are facing some uncertainty. The team is without a head coach after Darryl Sutter resigned last month. The Flames are also facing some salary cap issues, which could force them to make some tough decisions this offseason.

Despite the challenges, Treliving is confident that the Flames can be a contender in the Western Conference.

"We have a lot of good pieces in place," Treliving said. "We just need to put it all together."
