A Family Legacy in Business and Hockey
Jim Treliving, Brad's father, is a well-known co-owner of the Boston Pizza restaurant chain and a longtime host on CBC's Dragons' Den. He is also the founder of the Jim Treliving Management Group, a consulting and mentorship firm. Brad's mother, Elaine Lorraine, is a successful businesswoman in her own right. Brad Treliving married Julie Mast Treliving, and together they have two daughters.
Brad Treliving's Career in Hockey
Brad Treliving has a long and distinguished career in hockey. He played junior hockey for the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Spokane Chiefs before being drafted by the Calgary Flames in 1984. He retired from playing in 1992 and joined the Flames' front office as a scout.
Treliving rose through the ranks of the Flames' organization, eventually becoming the team's General Manager in 2014. During his tenure, he oversaw the team's rebuild, which culminated in a berth in the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals.
Expectations for Treliving in Toronto
